Contemporary MicroSystems adds a lunch box style portable computer to its line of field service, testing, data acquisition computers.

The MPC-9000 is a self-contained, portable computer designed for field service, data acquisition, testing, and other mobile applications. It features a lunch box style system enclosure that supports an industry standard ATX, Micro-ATX form factor motherboard, four storage device bays for hard drives and optical drives, a fold-down keyboard, a choice of 15.4″ or 17″ LCD monitor, and a 400 watt power supply. The MPC-9000 provides a totally integrated portable computer system ready to be deployed in industrial environments such as telecom field service and test applications. And with its substantial expansion capabilities through on-board PCI-Express and PCI slots, integrated input/output capabilities, and four drive bays for storage devices, the MPC-9000 offers flexible configurations using commercial-off-the-shelf components.

The field-ready MPC-9000 is constructed of aluminum alloy for light weight and durability. Hard drive is mounted on shock absorbers. Expansion cards are securely held down in their slots with add-on card clamps. Rubber bumpers on all corners provide additional shock and vibration resistance. There is a durable, rubber-clad carrying handle on the top that makes carrying the system easy. A padded carrying case with wheels and telescopic handle is included for long-distance transportation of the system.

The MPC-9000 handles cooling and ventilation of the internal components through six intake and exhaust cooling fans. A unique design that incorporates two of the fans and an air duct over the motherboard CPU efficiently expels heat generated by the processor.

The MPC-9000 comes in base configurations with either Intel or AMD dual-core processors and 1 GB system memory. Integrated graphics controller, gigabit Ethernet, USB 2.0, SATA hard drive interface are standard. And if additional functionality or graphics processing power are required, there are PCI-Express x16, PCI-Express x1, and PCI slots to upgrade the system.

The MPC-9000 is available now. For additional information, visit: http://www.ipctechnology.com

Question by ♡TRUE LOVE FOREVER♡: Why does it hurt so bad when I know my Dad doesn’t care?
HI,

I KNOW THAT IT’S A LOT – BUT, I REALLY NEED YOUR ADVICE.

For years my Father and I never got along. WE just never saw eye to eye, and whatever I wanted to do with my life was never a good idea. He is so manipulative, and controlling which made me more and more distant from him all this time. I went through a crisis when I was 15 years old. I dressed excessively but I was a good kid. I didn’t have any friends, because I never connected with someone who understood me. I did very well academically and my Father never appreciated how hard I tried to be good. Whatever I did in terms of getting good grades or following my passion for art and make up was never a good idea. Because of that he hospitalized because i was too “out of the box”. I had no intentions of being bad, I didn’t even have friends and he still has to treat me like garbage. THat left me such a deep hole in my heart because he never believed in me. Instead, he thought I was out of control when all I ever wanted was for him to see that instead I wanted a loving Father.

While I was hospitalized, my parents got divorced. THat whole time when I was hospitalized he met someone – she was only eight years older than me. During that time, I was 15, my Father was 47, and his girlfriend was 22. Despite this circumstance occurred three years ago – the hurt in my heart only grew instead of me more and more.

Today, my Father is married to that same woman, and they even have a child together. IT sickens me so badly, and he NEVER treated me right. He always yelled at me, and always put me down for one thing after the other. I have kept this inside of me for so long, and I thought I was okay with it – but I wasn’t.

I finally exploded on one phone call with my Dad, and he didn’t even care how I felt. He just kept saying that all what I did was for you – that’s bs because he acts so nice with his new wife and kid. But to me, I’m like from his different life time. IT breaks my heart everyday because he forgot about me. He doesn’t even know who i am and it has been three years later.

For the last two months I haven’t spoke to him. What happen was that I was suppose to meet him for lunch and I was running a bit late. He told me “if you’re not here in 15 mins, I”m leaving’ THat’s when it hit me, that he just doesn’t care, or love me. Who says that to your own kid!!? I always tried to show him that he can be proud of me. But now I am the one who is ashamed of having a Father who doesn’t care.

My Mom tried so hard to mend my Dad and I – but, he always says that he has to go. He knows he’s wrong. Time is just pasting by and he just doesn’t care. I don’t know what I am asking you guys – but, maybe I just need some insight.

I don’t think about it anymore – its his loss. But, why does it hurt so bad when I know that he’s heartless?
*7or 8 years older than me
Thank you all so much – I am almost 18 years old.

Best answer:

Answer by Sheltie Lover
.

I can tell you from experience, that it will be up to you to make a life without him……and quite frankly, I don’t know why you want him in your life anyway.

Do you think he is going to miraculously become “a new man” somehow?

He won’t. So quit trying to make him into something he isn’t. — His problems may have absolutely nothing to do with you. Most men learn “who they are” from their Fathers. If his Father failed him in that area, he isn’t going to “outgrow” it.

While he may have gotten off on the wrong foot with you early on, and just could never get back on track, there are probably some deep seated reasons that you don’t know about.

Move on… …… Sing your own songs……. Decorate your own life.

Exeter, UK (PRWEB) March 28, 2007

A personal fitness trainer from Exeter, UK has launched an exciting new diet designed to combat convenience snacking.

Simon Lovell has developed ‘The Lunch Box Diet’ over the past twelve months in conjunction with his Fitness First gym client base and is already receiving international interest via his web site since the recent launch.

The concept assists dieters with reducing daily hunger pangs, controlling weight and tackling low energy levels, especially for those in jobs where it’s the norm to ‘grab when you can’. The diet, also backed by national gym chain Fitness First in the UK promotes frequent healthy eating with building in what you enjoy. It’s especially good for those who are at work and find by lunch time they’re craving bad calories. The diet is not only aimed at those with weight problems but those who want to improve the value of the nutrients in their diet. The concept works by picking from various food groups and adding it all to a daily food box between your breakfast and evening meal.

Anthony Stuart has been using the diet for the past few months: “Simon’s lunchbox eating plan/diet was excellent for me as I work in a busy office and usually just work through my lunch break. I was able to eat small amounts from the lunchbox all day long so my energy levels were maintained and I no longer suffered from the post-lunch slump I was used to! There are literally thousands of different combinations you can have on a daily basis so I never get bored with lunch. So far my girlfriend and I have both lost half a stone on ‘The lunchbox Diet’ and feel fantastic.”

The diet’s creator Simon Lovell ‘aka The Heat’ said: “The diet makes sense for many people, especially those working and who find that they are always impulse snacking. When people read the diet they will get a better understanding of why it’s important to consume the kinds of foods allowed within ‘The Lunch Box Diet’. It was easy to develop the diet as so many clients have the same problems when it comes to nutrition, they snack because they’re hungry at lunch and that’s what the diet mainly tackles.”

Those wishing to purchase the digital diet can do so at http://www.theheatfitness.co.uk for £5.95.

Question by ☮king☮: Can someone please help me on my situation, and be honest?
Okay so on my college application, it ask me if i ever been expelled, suspended, or placed on probation and if i did i have to write a statement of explanation. It has two check marks, One saying yes (for if i got suspended) and one saying no (for if i didn’t get suspended)

I have been suspended “once”. It was for stealing a slice of pizza in lunch room.

BUT, my principal said that it will not go on my college transcipt at all, it’s just for the high school records.

This particular posting is without question merely one of many I will be putting up about lunch bags during the next few days. I am striving to have the weblog up to date more frequently than I have been in the past. Let me know what you think concerning this posting and what you wish to experience concerning lunch bags soon.

Tote Bags – The Ultimate Trade Show Giveaway

Monitoring trends in trade show promotional products, it’s easy to follow popular products like pens, key chains, calculators and mouse pads. Most people look for trade show items that attract a lot of attention like multifunctional key chains or flexible rubber calculators but a fascinating trend in promotional product marketing for trade shows is the innocuous tote bag.

Tote bags or totes, as they are referred to colloquially, are currently the most widely used trade show items, their style and convenience makes them a favorite among promotional event goers. Some of the success of these seemingly ordinary items is due to the growing trend of environmental consciousness because the bags are reusable. Also, totes are items that people can always use more of whether it’s for grocery shopping, traveling or carrying to work. Here are some of the more popular tote items used for trade shows:

Cotton Tote Bags – Cotton is a natural fiber made from the cotton plant. Cotton is an extremely soft material and the fiber alone are very weak, they becomes incredibly strong when woven together into a fabric. That makes these bags strong enough to carry heavy items but still soft to the touch.

Jute Tote Bags – Jute totes are the leading eco-friendly bags sold because they are made of plant fibers that are reusable and 100% environmentally friendly. Those trying to show their company’s compassion and environmental consciousness have had great success with Jute Tote Bags.

Lunch Bags and Cooler Totes – Totes are not typically insulated but insulated totes keep perishable items fresh for hours and hours. These insulated totes are ideal for the corporate setting where there’s a growing trend of taking a lunch from home to work.

Tote bags are part of a growing trend of reusable product popularity. Reusable products are socially conscious and good for the environment. Tote bags have the potential of replacing hundreds of disposable plastic and paper bags used by just one person-a-year. These items are not only environmentally friendly, they are also fashionable which only adds to their appeal and popularity.

One Small Step (http://www.onesmallstep.com), the online one-stop-shop for non-toxic lunch ware, reusable bottles, school supplies and baby accessories, aims to educate families on how to reduce consumption and make greener choices. To encourage organizations to get on board, One Small Step donates 10 percent of gross sales back to partnering schools and non-profits.

“If we educate our children on a waste-free lifestyle, they will educate their friends and families, ultimately helping the environment,” said One Small Step founder Renata Bodon.

Budget-friendly lunch ware means less waste goes to landfills.

Consider the average child’s lunchtime trash totals up to 67 pounds per school year. For the average elementary school, that’s almost 10 tons of trash a year – just from lunchbox waste. Also, families save money by choosing reusable lunch ware. On average, waste-free lunches cost one-third less, saving approximately $ 246.60 per child each year. The investment in reusable lunchboxes, bottles, and other food storage options quickly pays for itself.

One Small Step products are non-toxic, fun, colorful and competitively priced.

  School Supplies – Staple-less stapler and eco-friendly pencils from $ 4.00.
Baby/Toddler – BPA-free bottles and fun backpacks.
Books and Videos – Healthy lunch making and more from $ 8.00
Deluxe Sets – Stunning eco lunch bags with stainless steel food containers.
Food Containers/Wraps – Food wraps, snack bags are an alternative to plastic wrap from $ 3.00.
Lunch Bags/Boxes – Whimsical and colorful in canvas, neoprene from $ 7.00
Utensils – Sturdy bamboo sporks and more from $ 2.00.

About One Small Step (http://www.onesmallstep.com)

One Small Step was founded in 2008 by mother Renata Bodon. When her daughter entered a Montessori pre-school that required waste-free lunches, Bodon found it challenging to find safe, high quality reusable lunch ware. With One Small Step, Bodon makes it easy for parents to find everything they need for a waste-free lunch, while encouraging kids and parents to think and act green. One Small Step offers non-toxic lunch bags and reusable bottles, napkins, utensils and bowls, as well as many food storage options. Prices are competitive and range from $ 1.50 (eco-friendly ice packs) to $ 52 (To Go Ware Deluxe Set). One Small Step donates 10 percent of gross sales to partnering non-profits.
Valerie Waters with California Raisin

Fresno, Calif. (PRWEB) August 9, 2007

Back-to-school season is a great time to get the entire family back-in-shape, especially the kids. A recent nationwide study conducted by researchers at Ohio State and Indiana University found that kids actually pack on more pounds during the summer break than during the school year. That’s why California Raisins and celebrity fitness trainer Valerie Waters are teaming up to help families earn an “A+” in healthy living this back-to-school season.

“Living fit and healthy should be a family affair,” said Waters. “Parents need to be healthy role models and make nutrition and fitness a priority when it comes to day-to-day family activities.”

Healthy Living 101

Waters is known for helping celebrity moms stay fit while juggling demanding work and family schedules. She believes getting in shape is no different for a super star or a super mom, and she offers the following tips for parents who want to help get their family’s health and fitness levels back-on-track this back-to-school season — and all year long:

• Families that play together, stay fit together. It is great if your child participates in a sport like soccer or dance, but also find something for the family to do together. This could be a bike ride, family day at the gym, or even something as simple as playing tag or Red Rover. The key is to spend time together doing something active. Help your child realize that exercise equals fun.

• Food-wise. When you bring your lunch and snack with you to work or school, it guarantees you’ll eat right. Take just 10 minutes after dinner to make lunch for the next day. Help your child learn to be responsible for his/her own nutrition by getting them involved. Children age 7 and under can choose from a pre-approved selection of snacks, like an apple, orange or box of California Raisins. Ages 8 through 10 can help assemble a sandwich under supervision, and 11-year-olds and up, can make their lunch while you make yours.

• Make a plan. Summer is fun and carefree, but with the first day of the new school year, structure returns. Your child’s day quickly fills up with school, homework and after school activities. Now more than ever, it is important that exercise and meals are planned. Schedule meals so that your family eats together at the table at least once everyday. This is a good opportunity to slow down and eat mindfully. Sitting together allows you to stay involved in your child’s life.

• Be consistent. Being healthy means consistently making wise choices over time. Nobody gets fit in one workout, nor do they change their eating habits in one week. It is important to be consistent in the messages you deliver to your kids. You will make a greater impact explaining the importance of exercise to your children, if you are committed to your exercise.

• Education through sampling. We all know kids can be notoriously picky when it comes to food. Try taking them to a farmer’s market where they will learn that food doesn’t just come from the supermarket and that there are seasons for different foods. They will be encouraged to sample a wide variety of fruits and vegetables and often nuts or dried fruit. And, a farmer’s market is a fun outing for the whole family.

Extra Credit – Back-To-School Sweepstakes

The benefits of adopting these tips may be motivation enough to start taking action each day, but as an extra incentive, California Raisins is offering a chance to win a special Back-to-School Sweepstakes.

Entering is easy. Consumers can go to http://www.LoveYourRaisins.com to complete an entry form and be automatically entered to win a three night / two day trip to a major theme park in Florida or California for a family of four. Question by Javier: Help me before I have a love overload?
Hey, I’m 14 and I’m having some problems with this girl that I really like. I need some advice on what to do so I don’t lose this girl. She’s beautiful to me and forgetting her wouldn’t be an option for me :/

She used to sit at my table with my two best friends who she calls “douche bags”.
I see her everyday and don’t understand why she doesn’t have a boyfriend yet.
She said I was cute (from her friend) but she call a lot of guys cute so I’m not sure what to do
I don’t have her in any of my classes except lunch but I do see her in the hallways a few times
I was getting lunch when she comes up to me and says hey, which I reply back, then I turn around to get lunch when I heard her talking about some dude that asked her out, which she neglected.
Turns out this dudes now trying to beat me up I guess
She used to sit at my table with her friends but now she sits all the way on the other side of the cafeteria
Once she asked me to go with her to the library (we can go on our lunch periods if we choose) but I said no because at the time I thought that she was just weird (this was at the beginning of the year)
After she knew I liked her, shes been acting shy and non-talkative near me. We had eye contact for a split second and turned away fast as she was walking back to her table
Truth is I love her

Best answer:

Answer by Kinsley(:
I think she’s probably interested in you.
The only reason that guy would want to beat you up would be out of pure jealousy.
If she’s talking to you, and thinks you’re cute you can build off of that.
good luck

Tarzana, CA (PRWEB) March 27, 2010

jasmere.com is a revolutionary online shopping concept that banks on people’s desire to find “under-known” new products at unheard of low prices. It’s the first online retail site focused on niche brands that deserve national attention. Jasmere.com brings thousands of buyers to the table by featuring burgeoning retailers’ products at up to 70 percent off. And the more buyers who sign up for one of jasmere.com’s featured items, the better the price – what jasmere.com likes to call “social shopping.”

Kelly Lester is the mom and CEO behind EasyLunchboxes.com which launched in December, 2009. Born out of her response to unhealthy school lunch programs, EasyLunchboxes.com started from her resolve to send her 3 kids to school with a nutritious meal, using little to no wasteful packaging. But the EasyLunchbox System is not just for kids. Adult size meals fit perfectly too. Supporting the waste-free lunch movement, EasyLunchboxes.com offers a reusable, superior solution at a much lower price than other companies – great for large families and those on a limited budget. EasyLunchbox products are FDA approved and have no BPA, phthalates, lead, vinyl, or PVC. The EasyLunchbox System is quickly becoming the new favorite among affordable and green lunch box solutions, and Kelly is thrilled that her simple food containers and cooler bags have been chosen to appear in the Jasmere spotlight.

Says Kelly, “jasmere.com offers an exciting way to reach new customers and generate organically grown word of mouth. As a new company looking to gain national exposure, this is exactly the kind of effective marketing we need. When the affable Jeremy Kugel and his team at jasmere invited me to ‘partner’ with them for a day, I jumped at this terrific opportunity to introduce people to my lunch boxes, as well as promote the healthy habit of packing a nutritious lunch at home. It’s not only affordable, but good for you too, and the EasyLunchbox System makes it fast and easy to do!”

Question by Infinite Academic: Why pay for insurance when you will never get more that what you put in?
By this, consider the example: if my house burns down, and damages amounting to $ 1 million, and I only paid $ 1500 so far in insurance premiums, will the insurance company pay for my damages? Hell no!!! Insurance companies simply pay for damages on your behalf, using the money you gave them – certainly, insurance companies need to make a profit, so they deduct certain charges from the money you pay to them.

Why not just have your own little box at home, labeled “My INsurance” and throw money in there every month? So when something bad happens, you have your own personalized “insurance box” to come to the rescue.

There is no such thing as a free lunch (or free $ 1 million house)…

Best answer:

Answer by Dagger_SA
Your’e very cynical and not completely accurate. They don’t only use the money you gave them, but also the money others gave them from the pool from which to pay for all the damages. If you get ‘replacement cost’ coverage, the the insurance must pay at today’s cost of replacement.

As for self-insuring: obviously, that should be your ultimate goal. But unless or until you have built up a substantial emergency fund, you’re better off buying insurance.

Yea, the whole thing is a rip-off, unless your house burns down and you’re left homeless and in debt, then suddenly it was a good plan.

Have you never noticed? The people who can’t afford insurance are the people who cannot afford NOT to have it; and those who can afford insurance often can afford to do without it.

So why is that? Because people with money realize insurance is not the complete rip off you think it is.

Exeter, UK (PRWEB) December 17, 2007

The Lunch Box Diet eating plan is designed to help the nation follow a healthy regime that maximises their energy levels and shifts fat for the long term. It offers an alternative to destructive dieting regimes based on a commonsense approach, an understanding of healthy eating and readily available, nutritional foods. Via direct contact with his personal training clients, Simon has learned that the diet is sustainable, enjoyable and fits in with family life and has designed it so that there are no silly meals to prepare.

The no-nonsense diet allows people to eat their normal nourishing breakfast and dinner, while still shedding weight safely, and the eating plan is also a great maintenance regime for those who want to ensure their diet is energy fuelled, healthy and has lots of variety.

The Lunch Box Diet encourages grazing throughout the day to combat hunger pangs and uses super foods to provide the anti-oxidants necessary to prevent free radical damage, which combats premature aging of the skin, fights disease and maintains a healthy lifestyle. The diet is also designed so that carbs are added according to how active you are, so is perfect for those looking to sign up to gyms in the new year.

Elle Magazine’s UK reviewer said: “At the end of the four weeks, the diet has become a way of life and I’ve lost 12lb”. Where most diet plans can shift the pounds, the most important factor when dieting is sustainability and once normal eating plans are resumed, fat piles back on. With the Lunch Box Diet plan it’s about slowly re-educating your body to eat small regular meals, speeding up user’s metabolism and boosting their energy, among lots of other benefits. It’s no surprise that the feedback to Simon is that people continue to use the diet all year around.

Renowned personal fitness trainer Simon Lovell (UK Fitness expert to ‘Sport’ Magazine http://www.myfreesport.co.uk), the mastermind behind the Lunch Box Diet, has used his expertise to create an intelligently balanced plan. He explained: “The diet has snowballed from healthy eating plans I gave to my clients to supplement their fitness programmes. They worked so well that clients were passing them on to their friends and colleagues. I decided I had produced something special, quick to implement and, most importantly, doable.

“People can drop down to their ideal weight without compromising their health – it just takes a bit of direction and professional advice. There are definitely negative repercussions when using certain diets, which can have long-term effects on your health. I want to show people they can lose weight and actually improve their health as part of a whole lifestyle change.”

Sarah Panter, a Devon and Cornwall NHS worker, said: “The diet is so simple, tasty and great for me in the office. I lead a busy life and found I’d often be reaching for the crisps or chocolate bars. Now I’ve replaced those choices with a diet that ensures healthy alternatives are always on hand for when I get hunger pangs. It’s even helped with my Eczema”

Those wishing to buy the diet can do so at http://www.thelunchboxdiet.com for $ 19.95/£9.95

Just Good Stuff’s™ new Lunchbox Notes™ are little bits of love and encouragement — a simple way for parents to add something simply scrumptious to their child’s lunch box and they’re now available at http://www.justgoodstuffonline.com. Children will love finding these colorful character boosters, which allow a little extra space for loving thoughts from parents to brighten their child’s day. They reinforce the old adage, “it’s the little things that count.”

Just Good Stuff’s™ Friends — Brogan the alligator, Dex the hippo, Ellis the elephant, Fifi the monkey and Calliope the parrot — help bring positive character and inspiration to children’s lunchboxes. The front of each brightly colored Lunchbox Note features a positive character trait, such as “brave” or “honest.” Inside the card, the word appears again with its definition. Parents or someone special can write a personal note to the child. Simple instructions follow for the child to write back and tell how they were, for example, “funny” or “honest” that day. Kids love to share their accomplishments, and parents love hearing how the positive character was reinforced.

Adults can use Lunchbox Notes™ as often as they like to reinforce simple lessons, build self-esteem and combine laughing with learning. They are great to use for sleepovers, outings, or camp. Lunchbox Notes™ make note-passing fun and rewarding.

A blonde calls her boyfriend and says, “Please come over here and help me. I have a killer jigsaw puzzle and I can’t figure out how to get started.”

Her boyfriend asks, “What is it supposed to be when it’s finished?”

The blonde says, “According to the picture on the box, it’s a rooster.”

Her boyfriend decides to go over and help with the puzzle.

She lets him in and shows him where she has the puzzle spread all over the table.

He studies the pieces for a moment, then looks at the box, then turns to her and says,

“First of all, no matter what we do, we’re not going to be able to assemble these pieces into anything resembling a rooster.”

He takes her hand and says, “Second, I want you to relax. Let’s have a nice cup of tea, and then ..” he said with a deep sigh, . .. . . . .

“Let’s put all the Corn Flakes back in the box.”
WOMAN’S POEM
Before I lay me down to sleep,
I pray for a man, who’s not a creep,
One who’s handsome, smart and strong.
One who loves to listen long,
One who thinks before he speaks,
One who’ll call, not wait for weeks.
I pray he’s gainfully employed,
When I spend his cash, won’t be annoyed.
Pulls out my chair and opens my door,
Massages my back and begs to do more.
Oh! Send me a man, who’ll make love to my mind,
Knows what to answer to “how big is my behind?”
I pray that this man will love me to no end,
And always be my very best friend.

MAN’S POEM
I pray for a deaf-mute nymphomaniac with huge boobs
who owns a liquor store and a golf course. This
doesn’t rhyme and I don’t give a s**t.

HugNotes.com, a new company started by Wendy Vianese, a mother of three offers parents a way to communicate with their kids at school. Wendy wanted a way to brighter her kid’s day at school by sending words of love and encouragement so she started sending lunch box notes, and her kids loved them. She then added puzzles and jokes and even started sending notes with her husband’s lunch.

Use HugNotes to remind your husband to pick up some milk on the way home or to give your youngster a joke to share with his friends. Just slip a HugNote in their lunch box, backpack, or briefcase so they know you are thinking of them. Wendy has created five categories of HugNotes for kids and one category for spouses. HugNotes can even be customized with your child or spouse’s name on them.

The Picture Cards are perfect for your child that can’t yet read. You receive 3 of 10 different designs that say, “I love you” or are “thinking of you” with full color pictures even the youngest can understand.

The Kid Cards are full color cards with pictures and messages. These cards can be customized with your child’s name. Each pack includes 30 different cards.

Joke Cards are perfect to add some humor to your child’s lunch box. Each pack includes 30 different jokes for your child to tell his/her friends. Jokes include Knock Knock and riddles.

Lunch box puzzles and game cards are just the thing to keep your child entertained. Pack includes 30 different games including tic-tac-toe, mazes, dot-to-dot, and more. Put a pack in the car for doctors’ offices or long car rides.

Need to send a little something extra with lunch? Use a preprinted customizable envelope. Just pick the message you want, put in some money and close. Pack includes 2 each of 10 different designs and can be customized with your child’s name.

Spouse Cards are the perfect way to add romance back into any marriage. Put these notes in your spouse’s lunch or briefcase to remind them of appointments, shopping lists, or your love. Customize with your spouse’s name.

Firstly, I am of thirteen years of age and I’m in the eighth grade. (I’m feeling kinda awkward typing this. xD)

Basically, there is one girl that I really like in my school. I’m not exactly the dating type, and I’m kind of a nerd. (I wear glasses, I’m short, and I have brown curly hair. >.>)

The only girl that I like that could possibly be in my league is about the same height as me, wears glasses, and I’ve never heard someone refer to her as “hot” or whatever. But I think she’s really cute and friendly, IMO.

(Again with the awkwardness…)

Every time I’ve seen this girl (Her name is Diamond, I’ll refer to her by that from now on.), she was with a small group of friends. Considering my goal is to see if she likes me as well, that could pose an issue.

I don’t have any classes whatsoever with Diamond, and the only way that I’ve even seen her is because of a week that my Chorus class was forced to sing in the dance room, because our class was getting cleaned. I didn’t even talk to her, but I admired her from afar. Since then, I’ve only seen her a couple times. Those times being in the mornings, when we are all waiting outside to get in the school, and at lunch. I have not talked to her either of these times because of that “barrier” of her friends. At lunch, there are eight columns of 6 tables each. I sit at one end of a column and she sits at the other. The teachers do not allow us to move to another table at any given time.

The only way I know her name is because one of my friends knows her, and I overheard him talking to her. I’m not even sure if her name is Diamond, because I just asked “who was that” and he replied “Diamond.” It could have very well been one of her friends he was referring to.

At first I thought that my friend could be my key to see if “Diamond” likes me, but it would be very awkward to try and explain to him: “Yeah, I like this girl, but I don’t even know her name. [insert description of 'diamond here]“.

Just lemme say that I’ve NEVER had a girlfriend in my lifetime, so I’m not very experienced with this stuff.

I also have a reputation as being one of the quiet kids, and I’m not well-known whatsoever. Some people even say I have no personality. :/

In addition to my nerdiness and quietness, I also have a horribly “unique” name. And by “unique” I mean it is horrible. It is pronounced exactly the same way as a commonly used word in the English language. Let me put it this way: My name is like naming someone “Kar”. It’s pronounced like “car” but it’s spelled differently.

So, given my situation, what would you Yahoo people propose I do here? I would really like to “go out” with her if she likes me too, but I need to find out if she does first, obviously.

(What made me write this long beast of a question is that I just woke up today a little lovesick. :[ )

Please help. T~T

(Sorry about how long this question is.)

P.S. Also, how would I go about asking her out, and when? How long should I be her friend before asking her out? I used to be friends with another girl I liked, but I got trapped in "the friend box" and never got to ask her out. D:

P.P.S. How would I get her off my mind? She's all I've been thinking about for the past three days, and tomorrow is my birthday. Not to mention Christmas, and It's all gonna be spent lovesick! All my friends are out of town for christmas, too!

P.P.P.S. I had my own"plan" of action, could you guys tell me how well this would work, and if I'm making any major mistakes here? Here it is... I'd "accidentally" bump into her one day and drop my books, and if she made any move to help, that means she must care about me at least a bit. Then, the next morning, I'd say something along the lines of "Oh, didn't I bump into you yesterday? Sorry about that. [commence smalltalk] [/smalltalk]” Then continue talking to her every morning for the next week or so, and then ask her if she’d like to go to the most recent “chick-flick” in theaters, most likely Twilight. Any major flaws with that plan?

P.P.P.P.S If you think you’ve read this question before, you probably have, I’ve posted it on the site one or two times before. I’m just looking for more answers, and I can formulate them into one big plan to set into action the day I get back to school.

Thanks!

Answer by Jaime P
Dude that’s way, way to long. Cut it down and more people will try to help you. If you want to get to know her better, find out about her. Ask her friends what she is into and learn about it. it will give you two a common interest and something to talk about. Good luck.
